  • How to make a good pot of soil for Arabicum seedlings?

Arabicum has another name "Long Legs Desert Rose", or pyramid adenium. After germination, body height will be growing so fast. Until 9 days, its height will be the same with 15th days of rosy adenium. How to make a good pot of soil for Arabicum seedlings Put a thin rotten rice musk and rotten tree leaves as a first layer into a pot (3-4cm). Fertilize a bit of the Controlled Release Fertilizer - CRF 14-14-14 to supply nutrition for seedlings. Create a mixture of 40% coir, 40% of black ash, 20% of perlite and a bit Trichoderma as a second layer (the rest of pot height). After 2 months, plant will grow well as below picture. As you can see, it's super easy to create a mixture of soil and plant arabicum. Hope you can get success!
  • How to grow adenium seeds with high germination rate

Below are some techniques to grow adenium seeds with high germination rate. Preparing a container with a well-draining growing medium, like a perlite or sand and soil mix. Put seeds into warm water from 6-8 hours and remove floating ones. Put seeds in horizontal position and cover by a very think soil. Gently water and keep enough humidity. Water once every 3 days until the seedlings appear. Keep the temperature of the growing pot at between 27-29 Celsius degrees. Seeds should germinate in 1 week. If they are not fresh, it may take longer. It shouldn’t last longer than 10 days. When the seed germinates, it will usually dispose of the seed shell on the leaves on its own, but it’s stuck sometimes, and the leaves can’t open. If it doesn’t fall off in 2-3 days, feel free to GENTLY remove it, otherwise the seedling may die. In about a month, the seedlings will be large enough to transplant to a permanent pot. During the first 2-3 months after germination, the seedlings need to be under a strong light (not direct sun light) and on a warm spot, up to 38°C. Only after 2-3 months you can slowly let your plant get used to the sun, but first expose it for an hour or two early in the morning or late in the evening, when the sunlight is not too strong.
  • Some beautiful Arabicum plants in Vietnam

In Vietnam, annually we have some contests to show adenium with many gorgeous plants. Below are some of them, please enjoy.
  • How to grow rosy adenium

Soil Rapid drainage. Soil mix with coarse grit, perlite, sand and gravel. In tropical area, we can use the mixtures of 40% rice husk ash (large grains), 20-30% coconut powder, 10% Tribat (processed cow dung), 10% peanut shells and 10% of fresh rice husk. Fertilize soil every 2 months. Planting Adenium Seeds Put seeds into warm water from 6-8 hours and remove floating ones. Put seeds in horizontal position and cover by a very think soil. Gently water and keep enough humidity. Should 1-2 seeds per a plastic pot. After 1 month, move seedlings to a bigger pot. Planting Adenium Seedlings From 1 - 6 months: Water 15-20 days/time for plants by the mixtures of 10-15grams NPK 20-20-15 + TE or NPK 16-12-8 + TE with 10-15 litres of water. Periodically (7-10 days) spray a 3-20-20 fertilizer that contains 3% nitrogen, 20% phosphorus and 20% potassium encourages roots to grow strong and healthy. From 6 months to 1 year: Water 20-30 days/time for plants by the mixtures of 20-30grams NPK 20-20-15 + TE or NPK 16-12-8 + TE. Periodically (7-8 days) spray Fertilizer with more Phosphorus(NPK 15-30-15) to stimulate and enhance bud development and set, seed formation and blooming. Above 1 year with stable flowers: Use 20-30 grams NPK 20-20-15 + TE hoặc NPK 16-12-8 + TE for plants(20-30 days/time). Combine with fertilizer that helps maintaining flowers and boosting new bud, flowers. Best conditions to grow adenium Full sunlight and a temperature of 21-26 Celsius degrees Should be repotted every yea
  • Adenium Problems

Adeniums, if grown well, are remarkably free of problems (unlike a plants like, say, Hybrid Hibiscus). Many of the commonest problems can be prevented by proper culture in the first place. The commonest cause of Disease problems are due to over watering. This can be defined as watering in excess of the plants needs to the extent of causing harm. The amount and frequency of water applied to constitute over watering would thus be governed entirely by the plant's needs and its reaction to excess water. Thus in a media like Taiwan's stone chips and warm conditions, it would be virtually impossible to over water while in a media consisting of rotten, sticky peat and cool conditions, it would be very difficult not to do so. Pest problems tend to be concentrated on soft new growth and early in the growing season one needs to keep an eye out for pest build up. Nutritional problems: Occur due to a number of reasons besides the actual lack of a particular nutrient in the media or water. Understanding overall plant nutrition and the needs of Adeniums is key to solving and preventing nutritional problems in Adeniums. A generalized nutritional deficiency in a grafted Adenium: closer examination found that the plastic wrap around the graft was too tight and was girdling the stem. As noted in the section on nutrition, Adeniums do well with a moderate amount of nutrition supplemented with complete micronutrients. Part of the reason is that the most successful media are soil less with either
